Pandemic Pals

This past year has been a very difficult year for children. They have experienced a great deal of change and loss and in a lot of ways, they are doing it alone. There is limited access to extra-curricular activities, the school environment is different, and the ways in which a child learns, plays with other children, and explores the world is no longer consistent.

This has created many emotions and behaviours for children. I have heard from many children that they feel alone, mis-understood, and lonely.

Although there is so much change and so much isolation for children, the truth is that all around the world, there are children and families who are experiencing similar emotions and behaviours as a result of the pandemic.

That’s why I developed Pandemic Pals. This program will connect your child with another child from somewhere around the world and this is how it works:

  1. Complete the form below. I am only asking for e-mail addresses for now. Your children can send letters and pictures by e-mail. If you later choose to exchange addresses with the family to send physical letters instead of e-mails, that is something you can arrange on your own.
  2. I will pair your child with another child and send both families your contact information. Your children will be paired based on age.
  3. Lastly, write away! Your family can set an expectation for the experience. You can decide how often you’ll write to one another and what information you’re comfortable sharing. The hope is that even from afar, children can make connections, learn about others, feel like they belong, and build friendships.

It’s that simple! Go ahead, fill out the form below and let’s get started.
